First Line Supervision Certificate Program Offered in Richmond, Corbin, Manchester and Somerset

Eastern Kentucky University will offer its First Line Supervision Certificate Program with the three-day Basic Core Concepts I course on February 6, 7 and 12, in Richmond and April 11, 18 and 25 in Corbin. 

Participants will then select an additional 18 hours (three days) of elective seminars to complete the Basic Supervision Certificate program. The elective seminars may be taken as part of the Certificate Program, or as a stand-alone professional development activity. 

Graduates may choose to continue to the Advanced Supervision Certificate Program.  The second phase of the program requires the three-day Advanced Core Concepts II course, which is scheduled for May 7, 14 and 21 in Corbin and on dates to be announced in Richmond.  Participants will again choose an additional 18 hours of electives to complete the Advanced Supervision Certificate program.

Presentation Skills — March 21 and 28 (Corbin): An opportunity to develop presentation style in a safe environment.

Sexual Harassment — April 16 (Richmond), May 13 (Manchester), June 12 (Somerset): Current issues that supervisors need to know for today’s workplace.  

Time Management — April 30 (Richmond): How to better manage time– both in the workplace and at home. 

Accident Prevention —May 9 (Corbin): Practical approaches to promote safety and prevent accidents in the workplace.

Dealing with Difficult People — May 22 (Somerset), June 6 (Corbin): Communication and flexible thinking as key methods of dealing with difficult people.
