An Oxford-style debate at Eastern Kentucky University on Tuesday, Feb. 5 will examine the topic of reparations for slavery.
The debate, 7:30-9 p.m. in O’Donnell Hall of the Student Success Building, is part of the University’s year-long observance of the sesquicentennial of the Civil War. Free and open to the public, the event is sponsored by EKU’s African/African-American Studies Program and Department of Philosophy and Religion.
Participants in the debate, all members of the EKU faculty, will be Dr. Mike Austin, Dr. Gregg Gunderson and Dr. Laura Newhart. The moderator will be Dr. Patrick Nnoromele.
