Overland Park, Kan. — Leigh Anne Neal, a student in Baker University's Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership program, has been named an American Association of School Administrators Educational Administration Scholarship winner.

Neal serves as associate superintendent for communications in the Shawnee Mission (Kan.) School District. The honor recognizes promising superintendents of the future.

As an outstanding graduate student, she will receive a scholarship in the amount of $2,500 to continue her studies. Each scholarship honors a former executive director of AASA. Her scholarship is given in honor of Paul B. Salmon, who served as executive director from 1971 to 1985.

The award will be presented to Neal at the National Conference on Education on Feb. 23, 2013, in Los Angeles.
