Student Nationally Recognized

CHENEY, Wash. - Eastern Washington University senior Susanna Kang has been named Innovator of the Year by Alpha Kappa Psi (AKPsi), a professional co-ed business fraternity dedicated to developing future business leaders.

Kang, who will earn her BA degree in business operations management this June, received the award at the recent AKP national conference in Reno, NV. The award goes to the organization's upcoming "mover and shaker." Founded in 1904, Alpha Kappa Psi is the oldest and largest co-ed business fraternity in the country.

After joining AKPsi's Eastern chapter in 2011, Kang led the Amazon.com Partnership Committee and helped raise more than $2,000. She is currently the chapter president, and helps organize workshops and bring professionals out to campus to create more opportunities for Eastern students

Seattle native also has minor degrees in Communications and Social Work, and plans to pursue her MBA at EWU after graduation. In addition to her studies and campus involvement, Kang is a full-time employee in Student Employment on campus. Her long term goals include being a part of the top management team of a large company and opening a non-profit organization.
